The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Updates Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
